Possibly the best secondhand pug currently available. This completely standard, unmodified, unmolested, fsh cherished example has been owned and cared for by a loving enthusiast and previous gti owner.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

The car is in an incredible condition for a vehicle of this age. When i purchased it in June 2003, despite its mint appearance as a perfectionist I went on to improve it even further by fitting brand new parts that were not strictly necessary or needed. The interior, especially the leather seats are in amazing condition:

- recent respray of all paintwork
- recent front+rear bumpers, headlights, indicators, fog lights, interior clock
- all alloys + spare, machine cut to restore them to pristine as new condition
- leather regularly fed and alloys/trim regularly cleaned
- seat bolsters in A1 condition

- spare rim also in mint condition as its been kept in the garage
- no rust on the vehicle apart from a tiny bit underneath the boot cover where the spare wheel housing release is


MECHANICAL:

In a similar vein, I have maintained this car like a cherished possesion, thoroughly inspecting every part of it and performing maintenance when not strictly required.

- car runs extremely well and has been used every weekday as a real-world car
- idles very well
- wheels balanced, toe and alignment spot on

- no unwanted oil filler cap deposits
- cooling system recently flushed, bled and checked

- recent new battery, new master cylinder, new starter motor, alternator belt, new spark plugs, front wheel bearings
- brand new Pirelli Assimetrico front tyres
- included in the sale is a brand new front bumper and red trim, spare thermostat and temperature sender and spare front headlights
- NO blue smoke



JUST SHORT OF PERFECTION:

No used car is perfect but as far as 205's go this is probably as close as it gets ! Seeing as buying a car off of ebay could feel quite daunting, I will be as honest as possible and list here the only issues with the car which would need to be recified if one wanted to return the car to concours condition:

- passenger door needs a coat of lacquer as its not quite as shiny as the rest of teh car but this is only really noticeable in bright sunlight... unless you'reteh complete perfectionist it simply wont matter
- bonnet has some scratches where I think a football has bounced off the car somehow ! Again, if you were a perfectionist then a respray would be needed. Ive T-cutted these marks but a good restorer could improve things even further
- the original peugeot radio is present but i have never had it in the car working so am not 100% certain of its operation
- when i bought the car the alloys were seriously mint, newly diamond cut. But the winter has been slightly cruel so they have a little bit of corrosion on them now. They still look awesome though, its only on closer inspection that you will notice that they are only 90% now and not A1.


HISTORY:

The history on this car is exhaustive to say the least. Finding a 1.9 Gti with anything like this sort of level of genuine service history is becoming near impossible these days. FSH includes:

- original New Vehicle sales invoice dated 19.07.91 from Peugot Talbot dealer Edwards fo Espom.

- Across both previous owners a full collection of bills and recepits of all mechanical work and all Main Dealer servicing and purchased parts; no expense has been spared on the maintenance of this car throughout its life.

- All MOT certifictaes dating back to 1994.

- Fully stamped Peugeot Service record book that includes the supplying dealers initial 1000 miles running in service and then a subsequent 11 dealer service stamps at 6k mile intervals to the present day including a Cam Belt change stamp. The first 8 of those 11 stamps are either at Edwards of Epsom or Citygate Peugeot also in Epsom Surrey.

- all receipts under my ownership

Please also note that the car has NEVER been used on a trackday or any such event... its a standard unmodified road car and been used as such. I know the GTi's well and owned one before and the only reason i'm selling this one is partly beacuse I fancy a change after a year but also beacuse its a bit of a crime that i'm using it as a commute car and putting so much mileage on it. Suffice to say that I have had tremendous fun and I will dearly miss it !

VIEWING AND BIDDDING AND RULES:

You can view this car before the end of the auction at weekends or after 7.15 on weekday evenings at my home in Hampton (near Kingston-upon-thames) or at my place of work during office hours which is Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, Bucks.

Under no circumstance bid on this auction if you are not 100% certain that you want the car and have the funds readily available. If you bid then you are buying ! I will not tolerate timewasters and *will* follow the appropriate legal proceedures should the high bidder not pay up and that will include other charges surplus to just the cost of the auction ! You are not buying a new car and you are not buying a car so that you can come around days later and glance at it and haggle with the price. Bidding means you are part of a legal contract. Ensure that you can get and afford the necessary insurance and also ensure that you can get here to pick it up.

Once the auction ends I will require full payment within 4 working days of the end of the auction by bankers draft or personal cheque. Once the funds have cleared in my bank you may then pick the car up. Alternatively you can pay me cash when you pick the car up and once again, you will have to come and get the car within 4 working days from auction end date.

Sorry to sound stern but I have been let down before on ebay and simply do not have the time or patience to deal with these types of complications. Its better if teh ruels are laid out to start then we both know where we stand.
